SF October Weekend - Latest!

7th Oct 2024

7th OCTOBER and NOT LONG TO GO until SFOWE COMES ABOUT:

SFOWE date reminder - Arrive PM Friday 25th October – Depart PM Sunday 27th October

Well, it’s all happening here at Sore Fingers Headquarters. We’re entering the final admin stages where we need to get all the figures into Kingham Hill School (KHS) so that they can prepare for us. We keep booking open right up to the last minute to facilitate those who cannot commit in advance. However, if you intend booking for Sore Fingers October Weekend (SFOWE) we’d greatly appreciate it if you could get your bookings in ASAP please.

The Joining Instructions have been put in the post today to those who have already booked. If you don’t receive your copy in the next couple of days let us know and we’ll check it out.

Places are still available on all classes as Follows:

SINGING, BLUEGRASS BANJO and MANDOLIN have only 3 places left each respectively. So, if you intend booking it would be best to be quick to avoid disappointment.

GUITAR, OLD TIME BANJO and OLD TIME FIDDLE have several places left but may book up fast. So, again don’t leave it too long.

BLUGRASS FIDDLE, UKULELE, BASS, DOBRO and MUSIC DEVELOPMENT could do with a few more bookings to make them more viable for the future. Although we don’t expect to fill some of these classes like the others above it is important to run them to complete the full complement of instruments involved in this style of music. Maybe if you normally play another instrument, you might perhaps look at taking up one of these as an additional interest? Just a thought.

There’s still plenty of dormitory accommodation available, there are caravan and camping options, and you can stay off site at a B&B or with friends and travel in each day.
