LAST MINUTE.COM?
Park Farm where Moira and I peacefully live is normally a quiet place in rural Somerset. It’s currently a madhouse trying to get all the small things done ready for our move to Kingham next Wednesday!
Quiet and rural? Not this week!
Late news? Well, I’m sure you’ve all heard of Last Minute.com and probably had some great holidays booked on a whim a couple of days before going! In a similar fashion One could do worse than take a last-minute dive into the world of Sore Fingers Week, one of the most rewarding experiences on the UK acoustic music scene.
Moira , the team and I have a good feeling about 2025, it’s promising to be a vintage year with some absolutely fab tutors. Even the weather looks like it’s going to be kind. There’s Nothing like springtime in the sunshine at Kingham Hill School.
We have places available on the following courses:
Autoharp – with Heather Farrell-Roberts and Lyn Jones
Bluegrass Banjo – with Jeff Scroggins or Leon Hunt
Bass - with Eleanor Wilkie
Dobro - with Sally Van Meter
Bluegrass Fiddle - with Trent Freeman
Guitar – with John Moore
Mandolin – with Andrew Collins
OT Fiddle – with Joe Decosimo or Sammy Lind
Singing – with Chris Sanders
Beginners – with Peter Earle and Ed Hicks
Ukulele - with Percy Copley
Music development - is full.
Perhaps you’ve never been before or - as is not uncommon - you don’t think you are good enough to go there. Well in this latter case it’s exactly the place to go, it’s a school! You’ll progress in leaps and bounds at Sore Fingers Week and that’s not to mention the many friends you might make.
Oh, and need I mention the concerts and showcases which are totally unique to Sore Fingers Week. They will never be streamed or broadcast to any audience outside of those in attendance. This means you will be getting exclusive access to some of the best concerts one will see over the season. There will be unique line ups and special collaborations never to be seen again.
All there for the taking.
Have a quick surf on our website to download a booking form and help us by deciding before the weekend as it would be easier for us to process these bookings before we leave for the school. However, if you can’t do that, bookings will stay open until the day before the event starts on Monday 14th as long as there is still space on the course you wish to join. But please don’t leave it to the last minute if you can help it.
Dare I Say it? See you there…..
